A fundraiser has been set up for an Owen Sound family who lost their teenage daughter.
16 year old Meredith Wiebe had been reported missing on Saturday afternoon.
A search ended in the recovery of her body from the Sydenham River on Sunday.
A GoFundMe page set up by a family friend says they are raising funds to assist Meredith’s parents with funeral costs and provide financial support to allow them time off work to begin the process of grieving their loss.
The friend describes Meredith as having loved cats, ballet, crocheting, reading, baking, drawing and playing piano.
The page’s stated fundraising goal is $15,000, and as of 7 p.m. on March 20th, about $25,000 had been donated.
