Ryan Goetz scored in overtime to lift the Hanover Barons to a 4-3 win over the Fergus Whalers in Game 1 of their Provincial Junior Hockey League semifinal Wednesday evening.
Alex McGillivray, Curtis Arnold and Aaron Dukeshire also scored for Hanover. Jett Morningstar scored twice for Fergus, and Zach Nault added one.
Game 2 goes Friday night at 8 p.m. in Hanover.
Mount Forest 3 Kincardine 2
The Mount Forest Patriots clipped the Kincardine Bulldogs 3-2 to open their PJHL Pollock Division semifinal series.
Matt McLellan scored twice for Mount Forest, and Seth Huygen also had a goal. Carter Servais and Liam Colhoun tallied for the Bulldogs.
The Patriots lead the series 1-0. Game 2 goes Friday night in Kincardine at 8:30 p.m.
