The Owen Sound River District has received recognition for two local events at the Festival and Events Ontario Awards.
The awards were received at a ceremony in Niagara Falls on February 28th.
The River District received an Innovation Award for the Wheel & Ride event, which will be returning this Spring on May 25th.
The city also received a Top 100 Award for Holiday Magic.
Holiday Magic was also recognized for an innovation award in 2023 and is given for festivals and events that introduce creative, effective solutions to strengthen events, appeal to a broader audience, or enhance the experience for patrons, especially if an event includes public-private partnership, or celebrates entrepreneurial methods.
The Owen Sound River District is also taking time to thank its partners for the events, including the Kiwanis Club, the Optimist Club of Sydenham & District, the Owen Sound & District Junior Optimist Club, Scenic Cycle, and Owen Sound Police Services.
The Festival & Events Ontario recognizes municipalities, sponsors, and volunteers for their dedication and innovation.
