The Owen Sound Reel Festival is making its return today.
The 16th edition of the festival will be showing off three award-winning, feature-length documentaries at The Roxy Theatre, which were selected by the Tom Thomson Art Gallery.
The first film, The Lebanese Burger Mafia, will start at 11 a.m. and focuses of a rogue fast-food chain with mysterious origins.
At 3 p.m., the film Four Daughters will be playing which follows a Tunisian woman and the mother of four daughters after the two oldest disappear.
The film Aitmaako’Tamisskapi Natosi: Before The Sun will end off the festival tonight at 7. It follows the bond of family in the golden plains of Blackfoot Territory as a young SikSika woman prepares for a dangerous horse race.
TOM Director and Chief Curator Aidan Ware says, “we are thrilled to renew this popular film series working in collaboration with The Roxy Theatre. Each film was selected because it is unique, compelling, and because it will leave a lasting impression on its viewer.”
Tickets for this event can be purchased on The Roxy Theatre’s website here.
