Riley Patterson scored 1:21 into overtime as the Barrie Colts survived squandering a two-goal lead in the third period to beat the Owen Sound Attack 4-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Wednesday night at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
It was Owen Sound’s fourth straight loss.
Beau Jelsma, Jack Brauti and Bode Stewart also scored for Barrie (22-28-3), which ended a three-game slide.
Colby Barlow, Ethan Burroughs and Deni Goure scored for the Attack (25-24-5-2).
The win earned Barrie a split in the six-game season series with the Attack.
Barrie led 3-1 after two periods, but the Attack managed to tie the game in the third with a pair of power play goals.
Ben West made 39 saves in the win, while Carter George stopped 20 taking the loss.
The Attack outshot the Colts 42-24 while going 2 for 3 on the power play; Barrie finished 0 for 2.
Next action for the Attack is on Saturday when they host the Windsor Spitfires (17-30-4-3).
FIRST GOAL CONCEDED, AGAIN
The Attack have been playing from behind lately. Jelsma opened the scoring for Barrie at 8:12 of the first period. It was the seventh straight game the Attack conceded the first goal. They are 1-3-3 over that stretch.
