A senior’s being hit with a couple of Highway Traffic Act offences after a collision involving his vehicle, a school bus and a delivery truck in Owen Sound.
Owen Sound Police, firefighters and Grey County paramedics responded to the incident at the intersection of 3rd Avenue East and 6th Street East around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Owen Sound Police Sergeant Liz Cranny says a senior in his 80s was driving and his vehicle collided with the school bus, before crashing into a Purolator truck.
“It’s my understanding because the school bus is so big, it’s my understanding that vehicle was either spun or did some maneuver that then struck another vehicle which was the Purolator truck,” says Cranny.
Police say the senior and a couple of kids suffered injuries that needed medical attention.
The driver of the car involved in the collision is facing Highway Traffic Act offences for failing to stop at a stop sign, and careless driving.
