There’s a new ship in the Owen Sound Harbour.
The self-discharging bulk carrier the John D. Leitch arrived today in Owen Sound’s Harbour for the season.
It’s an Algoma ship and so far, is expected to be the only big ship to stay the winter, aside from the Chi-Cheemaun.
It was built in 1967 in St. Catharine’s and was first named the Canadian Century before it took on its current name in 2002.
It’s about 223 metres long and about 22 metres wide.
