Huron County staff has received approval to borrow money to meet 2024 expenditures.
Council approved the request from staff during this week’s meeting.
In a staff report, it was requested that the county borrow $4 million to meet current expenditures for the municipality in 2024.
The loan is to cover cash flow requirements from current expenditures, and is for the short term due to the timing of expenses compared to the collection of tax levy installments.
Previously the county has not had to enact any provisions and therefore did not previously need to do any short-term borrowing.
