The second half of a Quality of Life report from the United Way of Perth-Huron has been released.
The report looks at demographics in the two counties, who shows Huron and Perth have a median age higher than the provincial average, and a lower-than-average median income.
In the second part of the Quality of Life report, results found 94 per cent of local youth exceed the recommended recreational screen use.
This can impact sleep, physical activity and anxiety levels, as well as increase the likelihood of cyber bullying, the report says.
Volunteerism rates in the two counties is high, with 46 per cent of people in Perth and 43 per cent of people in Huron volunteering at least once a week.
The report also shows the number of special air quality statements is on the rise, likely due to the number of wildfires reported in 2023.
