Huron East has scheduled the removal of a tractor lodged in building in downtown Seaforth since mid-October.
The area surrounding a yellow brick building in Seaforth has been fenced off since October 13th, after a tractor drove through the front of a Main Street real estate office.
Chief Administrative Officer for Huron East, Brad McRoberts, says removal of the tractor will take place Friday afternoon, at approximately 1:00 p.m..
“Once the tractor is removed, then the need to have the road closed is removed,” McRoberts tells Country 104.9 News.
“The reason the road was closed was because the brick facade was away from the building, and if it ever did fail, it would drop.”
As for whether the upstairs residents of the building will be allowed to move back in, once the tractor is removed, McRoberts says there is still no answer.
“The building owner’s insurance company will probably proceed with how they’re going to complete the restoration,” McRoberts tells us.
“As we understand it right now, the intent is to restore it to its heritage characteristic.”
No timeline could be provided on that restoration.
