The Paisley branch of the Bruce County Public Library is moving, and the library is looking for community input on what they’d like at the new location.
A survey is available in paper and online. It asks users what times they would like to visit and what kind of programming and services they want to see in the new space.
It asks about possible kids and teen programming including things like book clubs, STEM, games like Dungeons & Dragons and other options. For adults, it asks if there’s interest in a book club or technology help as well as things like research help.
It also asks about what might keep people from using the library.
The new library location will be on the second floor of the community centre downtown.
It will have an accessible elevator, new flooring, lighting, upgrades to the washrooms to meet accessibility requirements and new windows.
The current 900 square foot library building across the street from the community centre was constructed in 1967 and is owned by the municipality. It doesn’t meet accessibility requirements for the entrance and washroom.
