OPP say they have arrested a man who was allegedly involved in two incidents in Saugeen First Nation.
Provincial Police say at about 11 p.m. on Thursday, November 23rd, officers responded to a report of an unwanted person on Scotch Settlement Drive on Saugeen First Nation.
According to police, when they arrived, the man, “displayed an edged weapon and a hammer.” No injuries were reported.
They say on November 24th at about 12:15 p.m., they responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle on Cameron Drive on Saugeen First Nation. They say the same man was involved.
A 29-year-old of Saugeen First Nation is charged with two counts of possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, assaulting a peace officer, theft under $5000, failure to comply with probation order, and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.
OPP say the accused was held in custody for the purpose of attending a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
