A Markdale Woman has won $50,000 in the lottery.
The OLG says, Mary Vandersluis won the top prize playing Instant Crossword.
Vandersluis, who works in the health care industry, has played the lottery occasionally for decades and says Instant Crossword and Bingo are her favourite games, saying “I get lots of entertainment from playing these tickets.”
The 67-year-old mother and grandmother says she discovered her win early one morning while having a coffee. “I thought I made a mistake somewhere on the ticket. I checked it using the OLG app and saw I won $50,000 – I was shocked!” says Vandersluis, adding, “My heart was pounding! I never dreamed I would experience a big win.”
She plans to treat herself and her husband to a new hot tub and will complete some home renovations. “I feel so grateful,” says Vandersluis.
Instant Crossword is available for $3 a play and the top prize is $50,000. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.91.
The winning ticket was purchased at Sunny & Moon on Toronto Street in Markdale.
