The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a motor vehicle collision on Highway 60 in the Town of Huntsville.
On November 25th 2023 at 11:10 p.m., members of the OPP, and emergency services responded to the scene of a collision involving two vehicles. As a result of the collision, five individuals are deceased.
UPDATE: The OPP earlier reported that a 42-year-old female from Huntsville was transported to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. This individual was actually pronounced deceased at the scene. One of the individuals in the Mercedes SUV was transported to hospital and succumbed to his injuries there.
The investigation remains ongoing.
On Monday, the Town of Huntsville issued a statement regarding the incident:
“On Saturday November 25, five lives were lost in a tragic accident on Hwy 60. On behalf of Huntsville Council, we send our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to their families and loved ones. Our thoughts are with them during this time. We grieve this loss of life and, as a community, we will come together to support those affected.”
