Local motorists can expect to see numerous RIDE spot checks at various locations in our area as officers take part in the 2023 Festive RIDE campaign.
The campaign runs until January 1st with the goal of keeping impaired drivers off the road and in turn keeping our roads safe.
To help with this initiative, those who plan on celebrating during the holiday season are reminded to make plans for a safe ride home ahead of time such as a designated driver, calling a taxi, rideshare or staying the night.
As a community member, you can also help keep our roadways safe by ensuring you always drive sober and encourage others to do the same. As well, if you know or suspect that a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs you can call 9-1-1 or our OPP Communication Centre 1-888-310-1122.
In doing so, you could be saving lives and helping us all have a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
