Some talent from the Grey Bruce region helped Canada to a bronze medal at the WSBC U18 Men’s Softball World Cup in Mexico.
Canada beat the United States 2-1 on Sunday to take bronze at the tournament.
It was Durham’s Alex McGillivray who had the big hit for the Canadians, launching a two-run home run in the sixth inning. Joseph Weiler of Hepworth also played for Canada.
Canada finished with a 7-2 record at the nine-day WSBC Softball World Cup. Japan won gold, beating Mexico 8-4 in the final.
