Provincial Police have shared more information about an incident in Shallow Lake last night that led to the closure Highway 6 and an increased police presence.
Grey Bruce OPP say they were called to a robbery at a business on Princess Street just prior to 9 p.m. Sunday night.
According to police, a male suspect armed with a gun entered the business and tried to get the cashier to hand over cash.
OPP Const. Krista Linthorne says no one was hurt, and the suspect fled the area on foot.
Police describe the suspect as a man about 5-foot-10, or 6-feet tall. He was wearing a full-face mask, and fall covered camouflage from head to toe.
“The investigation is ongoing,” OPP say in a media release. “If anyone has surveillance footage, including video doorbell systems, or dashcam video from the surrounding area in the time leading up to and following the incident, please contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.”
The OPP didn’t disclose which business the alleged incident occurred at.
Highway 6 in Shallow Lake was closed last night to allow the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team to search for the suspect, and for the crime scene to be processed. It re-opened early Monday morning.
