The Special Investigations Unit has completed its investigation into an incident in Wasaga Beach where a man suffered a fractured knee while being placed under arrest.
The incident took place in June 2023.
Police were called to an apartment where a man was holding a knife and threatening to fatally injure himself.
Officers worked to de-escalate the situation and place the man in handcuffs, during which time one of the officers apparently tripped the man.
The SIU found there were no reasonable grounds to believe an officer committed a criminal offence during the man’s detainment.
