The City of Owen Sound is holding a Household Hazardous Waste Event today.
The event at the Public Works Facility in the city will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and open to residents from Owen Sound, Chatsworth, Georgian Bluffs, Grey Highlands, and Meaford.
While attending the event, residents will be able to get rid of items like aerosol cans, brake fluid, and fertilizers.
Items like explosives, unidentified waste, and improperly contained waste will not be accepted.
To help move the line at the event as quickly as possible, people are asked to bring valid ID showing where they live and to complete a form ahead of time.

There are two more household hazardous waste events scheduled for the remainder of the year, Oct. 14 and 28.
