Work to rehabilitate Bayshore Road near Leith is set to begin next week.
The $1.27-million project covers about a one kilometre stretch of Bayshore Road north of Leith, from Grey Road 15 to the south side of Keefer’s Creek. It will include updates to water services and drainage, new traffic-calming infrastructure and repaving the road.
Meaford infrastructure project manager Joel Saunders says the work is scheduled to begin on Monday, Sept. 18. It should wrap up sometime in November.
A notice on the municipality’s website says Bayshore Road will be closed during construction, except to through traffic.
“Residents and property owners will have access throughout the project except when necessary for certain construction activities,” a statement from the municipality of Meaford explains. “It is anticipated that driveways will remain accessible.”
