Hanover Police have charged an elderly man with attempted murder, after he allegedly shot a relative with a flare gun.
Police say they were called to a residence in the 200 block of 9th Street in the southern Grey County town around 10:15 a.m. Friday morning.
Hanover Police say they arrived to learn a dispute between family members resulted in a 72-year-old man shooting a relative in the head with a flare gun at close range.
The 55-year-old male victim was taken to hospital for injuries police describe as non-life threatening.
Police arrested the 72-year-old man at the scene and charged him with attempted murder.
