The Meaford Leeky Canoe Ladies took on the Tara Ladies in a tight matched playoff game in Allenford.
Offence and defence were on fire for both teams, making it a nail biter from start to finish.
Tara’s first at bat scored one run, with Meaford answering back with 2. Both teams were held at 2 runs until the 4th inning when Abby Schenk drove in 2 runs on a home run hit giving Meaford a 2 run lead. Tara answered back, scoring 3 in the 5th inning to take the lead at 5. Meaford answered back in the bottom of the 6th inning, scoring 2 runs to take the lead and held Tara scoreless in the 7th to win the game.
Pitching for Tara was shared between LeeAnn Cochrane and Lexy Mahon. Throwing for Meaford was Maddison Parrish.
Port Elgin 8 Allenford Aces 6
Thursday night in Allenford, the Port Elgin Devils defeated the Allenford Aces by a score of 8–6. Kinsey Carter pitched for Allenford, while Natalie Brown blasted two triples for the Aces. Kaitlyn Gibson and Sinead Miller split the pitching duties for Port Elgin. Laura Kranenburg and Lyndsay Dales both belted a pair of doubles for the Devils.
Port Elgin moves on to face Meaford in the next round of the play-offs.
