The Owen Sound Attack have a new goaltending coach.
The Ontario Hockey League team announced on its website Paul Gibson will handle the duties moving forward.
Gibson, 37, has previous experience as a goaltending coach in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League with the St. Thomas Stars, the University of Guelph in USports and as a consultant with the OHL’s Oshawa Generals.
“He is a talented coach with several years of experience working in the league. I look forward to seeing him work with our goalies to help enhance their skills and strengths on and off the ice,” Attack general manager Dale DeGray says in a post on the team’s website.
The Attack announced in July that longtime goaltending coach Greg Redquest would not be returning. Then, the team tabbed Matt Smith as the next man for the job but his stay barely got started before he left for another opportunity in the National Hockey League.
