The Meaford Leeky Canoe Ladies took on the Bad News Bears in the second round of playoff games in Desboro.
Meaford started the game holding the Bears to one run and answered with 5 runs of their own. The game was tight matched and both teams went back and forth.
Entering into the top of 7th inning, the Bears scored 1 run to tie the game at 9. Meaford’ss Maddison Parrish placed a long hit to center field and secured the game for Meaford scoring off of a hit from Abby Schenk.
Desboro Royals 7 Tara Ladies 6
The Desboro Royals came out on top of a nail bitter with The Tara Ladies 7-6.
The Royals plated 5 runs in the second inning and needed their last bat in the bottom of the seventh to notch 2 more.
Big hitters were Jess McGregor with a triple, Patti Scarrow with a triple, and Jen Laver with a pair of singles. Kollby Kruger and Maddy Moore shared the win. For Tara, Heidi Nusko tripled and singled and Lexy Mahon added 2 singles.
Mahon and Leanne Cochrane shared the mound for Tara.
Allenford Gators 6 Allenford Aces 1
Nice night for ball in Desboro. Second round of Grey Bruce Ladies playoffs, Team Tedford Allenford Gators squared off against Allenford Aces.
Kinsey Carter and Julie Bates pitches for the Allenford Aces. Nyssa Zak pitch for the Gators. Nyssa also had a double and a triple. Lisa Snyder had a double. Christina Klein also had a triple. Bring the final score 6-1 for Team Tedford Allenford Gators.
Port Elgin 14 Tara Twins 7
Tuesday night in Desboro, the Port Elgin Devils defeated the Tara Twins by a score of 14 – 7.
