The Special Investigations Unit has re-opened a case involving a 31-year-old man who was injured while in the custody of Bracebridge OPP.
The man was involved in an altercation with several officers in June of 2022.
The S-I-U began an investigation, but then dropped it a few months later, saying there was no evidence of a serious injury that fell within the terms of its mandate.
Since then, The Aboriginal People’s Television Network has uncovered a video of the altercation.
Now the S-I-U says its taking another look at the case citing new evidence and a further review of medical records.
