There’s some renewal work planned for the baseball diamonds at Duncan McLellan Park in Owen Sound.
Councillors recently reviewed the city’s multi-year capital plan and there’s a proposal to spend $170,000 in 2024 for a refresh of the north diamond.
Re-grading the outfield, improving the infield and installing new LED lights are among the renovations scheduled at Duncan McLellan North.
City council still needs to formally approve the expenditure when it finalizes the 2024 budget.
Renewal work at the south ball diamond at Duncan McLellan Park is also included in the city’s multi-year capital plan (2025). While Duncan Major would be revamped in 2026.
