Saugeen Shores Police are hosting training for Standardized Field Sobriety testing this week, and some volunteers are helping them out.
They say their exercise can serve as a reminder for people.
Police say their volunteers drink some alcoholic beverages and then are put through the testing process with uniformed officers.
They say in a Facebook post, they checked in with one of their volunteers last night whose last drink was around 1:30 p.m.
When police sampled their breath at 8 p.m. (6.5 hours later) they still had between 50mg -80mg of alcohol in their blood.
That would have gotten them a licence suspension if they were driving.
Police remind everyone to take that into consideration the next time you think you are good to drive after a few hours of sleep.
