Grey Bruce OPP say they and Owen Sound Police are looking for any available video surveillance footage in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation in Owen Sound.
OPP say on July 11 shortly after 1 a.m., Owen Sound Police responded to a shooting at an apartment complex on 6th Avenue West, where they located a dead individual in what investigators believe was a targeted shooting.
The next day on July 12, police says members of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit arrested an Owen Sound resident, who is charged with first-degree murder.
OPP say investigators are urging people to submit any available video surveillance footage from July 10 at 11 p.m. to July 11 at 3:30 a.m. in the following areas of Owen Sound:
-Area between Alpha Street to 1st Avenue West, between 10th Street West and 14th Street West
-Area between 2nd Avenue West to 8th Avenue West, between 26th Street West and 29th Street West
-Area between 2nd Avenue East to 4th Avenue East, between 17th Street East and 18th Street East
Anyone who has video surveillance footage and are willing to share with police to assist with the investigation are asked to submit it here.
Police say the investigation is ongoing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch and involves members of the Owen Sound Police and its Crime Unit, OPP West Region Crime Prevention and Investigations, Owen Sound Police and OPP Forensic Identification Services, the OPP Regional Support Team, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
