There’s a household hazardous waste day in Bruce County Saturday.
It’s set to take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. July 22nd in Paisley at the Bruce County Transportation Yard, (242 Canrobert St.).
Household hazardous waste materials include: paints and stains, propane tanks, used oil, aerosols, batteries, antifreeze, oil filters, solvents, household cleaners, fluorescent lights, fertilizers, fuel, pharmaceuticals, fire extinguishers, pesticides and pool chemicals.
The county says in its website, “commercial waste, agricultural waste, industrial waste, PCBs, ammunition, and flares will not be accepted.”
It says only containers with a volume of 30 litres or less will be accepted and that waste must be received in containers that can be disposed of.
The County also notes, empty metal paint cans are blue box recyclable.
