The federal and provincial governments are celebrating the expansion of broadband internet in Huron County.
A funding partnership between the senior levels of government has connected 720 residents in rural areas of the county to high-speed internet.
Those include Bluewater Beach, Benmiller area, Porter’s Hill, Marnoch, and Hutton Heights.
The expansion follows $1.4 million in federal and provincial funding toward the Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) project.
Huron County provided an additional investment of more than $1.7 million to support the project.
