The emergency department at the Durham Hospital will be seeing more closures this week.
The South Bruce Grey Health Centre says that the emergency department will be closing tonight at 5 pm and will re-open Tuesday morning at 7.
The hospital will also close the emergency department on Friday, July 21st at 5 and re-open at 7 o’clock on Saturday, July 22nd.
The closures this week are due to insufficient staffing and are in addition to previously announced closures at the Durham Hospital.
The SBGHC says that ambulance bypass has been undertaken to divert patients to the nearest open ED.
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 911 to be taken to the nearest Emergency Department. For non-urgent health care needs, Health Connect Ontario is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions by calling 811.
