Huronia West OPP has laid charges against a man who was caught trying to steal a dump truck.
Early Thursday afternoon, police were called to a stolen vehicle in progress on River Road West, Wasaga Beach.
When police arrived at the scene, the suspect had locked himself into the cab of a running dump truck and was burning the tires trying to escape.
Police were able to arrest the man without incident.
The man is now facing charges of theft over $5000, failure to comply with a probation order, and resisting a peace officer.
