Dufferin OPP is continuing its investigation into a two-vehicle collision that claimed the life of one person.
Just before 11 o’clock yesterday morning, OPP was called to County Road 16 and Blind Line in Mono for a serious collision that involved a transport truck and a sport utility vehicle.
The driver of the SUV was extracted from the vehicle, and life-saving measures were not successful.
The 82-year-old woman from Shelburne was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The passenger of the vehicle was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries.
County Road 16 remains closed while officers complete their investigation.
The Traffic Collision Investigation team of the OPP was brought in to investigate. The investigation is continuing and anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact the Dufferin OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
