A non-profit group has received a grant to convert part of the post office building in downtown Orillia into affordable apartments.
The city has awarded $129 thousand to Raising The Roof, who have plans for 24 affordable units in the Peter Street building.
The organization will add a third story to the structure, with housing units on the upper floors and Canada Post continuing to operate on the main floor. They’re hoping construction will begin next year.
