Members of the Collingwood and Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a female with drug trafficking offences on the same day that they responded to multiple calls for service involving people who were believed to have overdosed on fentanyl.
In the afternoon June 28, 2023 Collingwood OPP responded to a report of a suspicious female and vehicle parked at the dog park on Second Street in Collingwood. When officers arrived they located a female in the vehicle and observed a quantity of suspected fentanyl and placed her under arrest. Police seized Fentanyl, cocaine and cash.
As a result of the investigation, police have charged a 35 year old female from Collingwood with:
· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
· Possession of Proceeds of Crime
She was held for a bail hearing and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood at a future date to answer to the charges.
