Northern Bruce Peninsula is awarding a nearly $139,000 tender for the design, supply and installation of playground equipment at the Tobermory School Bell Park and Lion’s Head Beach Park.
Council approved the tender in a report from Parks and Facilities Manager Mark Coleman during a meeting on June 26.
The report recommended accepting the proposal from ABC Recreation Ltd for the new equipment.
“Through the 2023 Capital budget process, staff and council identified the replacement of the playgrounds at the Tobermory School Bell and Lion’s Head Beach Parks as priority projects,” says the report.
A request for proposal was issued mid-May and received two proposals by the June 9 closing date.
The submission provided by ABC includes six elevated and seven ground level accessible components, as well as new swing set frames and seating, as well as surfacing with engineered wood fiber for both park locations.
The installation is scheduled for late October or early November
The tender falls within the $140,000 included in the 2023 capital budget for this project.
