Project Lifesaver is coming to Dufferin County. The OPP are now involved in training and expect to roll out details soon.
The project allows first responders to quickly locate vulnerable people who might wander off and get lost.
Citizens who enroll wear a small transmitter that emits an individualized signal.
If the person is reported missing, a trained emergency team responds to the area and can quickly find them by detecting the signal.
The Orangeville Lion’s club is providing funding and Caledon Meals on Wheels is providing administrative support.
You’ll find more on the project here.
