Hanover Police say a 911 hang-up call ended up resulting in charges against a 51 year old man.
Police Chief Christopher Knoll says on Twitter, Hanover police officers responded to a local motel for the hang-up call and learned a 51-year-old man from London accidentally dialled the emergency line.
Police say further investigation determined the man was wanted in London for a series of crimes, including sexual assault.
Knoll says officers attempted to arrest the suspect who resisted and allegedly violently assaulted police officers before they gained control by deploying a taser.
Other assisting officers from Hanover and West Grey helped secure the suspect who was remanded into custody and charged by Hanover police with assaulting police, resisting arrest, and mischief under $5000.
Knoll says an officer received minor injuries during the altercation with the suspect.
