Bruce Power and the Society of United Professionals have reached a new deal with members ratifying the agreement.
The power company and IFPTE Local 160 reached the new collective agreement last week.
The new contract was unanimously recommended by the union’s bargaining team and takes effect immediately.
A tentative agreement was reached on June 15th with the help of a conciliator, who was requested on May 8th by the union.
The three-year deal was ratified on June 22nd.
Prior to an agreement being reached, union members had voted 98.6% in favour of strike action if necessary.
The Society of United Professionals has represented workers at Bruce Power since the facility was constructed in the 1970s and is Local 160 of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers.
