Wellington North Fire says no one was hurt in an apartment complex fire in Mount Forest.
The fire department says on June 23 around 11:32 p.m., fire fighters responded to a blaze on Main Street north in Mount Forest.
The department says fire fighters arrived on the scene of an apartment complex on fire with smoke showing. There were occupants in the building at the time of the fire, but all involved got out safely.
A number of apartments in the building suffered damage as a result of a partial roof collapse, with other apartments suffering smoke and water damage.
The cause of the fire was deemed accidental in nature, but the exact cause has not been determined yet. It is not considered suspicious.
The department says the damage estimate is over $750,000.
Victim Services and provincial police were on the scene working to find any displaced families lodging for the night, and for the future. Seven out of 10 families were displaced due to the fire.
The department says about 60 firefighters attended the incident, including both stations from Wellington North and mutual aid from Minto, Durham, West Grey, and Southgate.
