Town of Kincardine
Kincardine Council is giving its support for the Kincardine Family Health Team’s expression of interest in a partnership with the province that seeks to expand primary care teams.
The Kincardine Family Health Team is expressing interest in the Expansion and Enhancing Interprofessional Primary Care Teams, which is provided by the Ontario Ministry of Health.
The move would expand the existing team by adding a nurse practitioner, as well as access to Allied Health programs and services.
In the letter that the council will send to Ontario Health outlines that Kincardine and the surrounding area is a rural community and has been experiencing a shortage of family physicians.
It also says that the proposed plan would improve access to services, while still reducing the strain on local emergency departments.
