Hanover police are thanking a citizen who came to the aid of officers earlier this week during an arrest.
Police Chief Christopher Knoll posted about the incident on Twitter on Tuesday, June 13th.
Knoll says the officers were struggling with a reportedly violent suspect near the intersection of 10th Street & 17th Avenue Tuesday afternoon.
Knoll says, “This citizen put himself in harm’s way to help the officers get the man into custody and secured in handcuffs.”
He adds, “We tip our hats to you and know your quick actions prevented our officers and the suspect from sustaining any injuries.”
Knoll says the 26-year-old male suspect of no fixed address faces charges including assaulting police and resisting arrest.
