Meaford is closing a portion of Bridge Street as it transfers part of the road to Skydev Inc.
During a meeting on June 12, council received a report from CAO Rob Armstrong, to follow up on a previous motion.
At the end of January, council passed a motion declaring the unopened portion of Bridge Street, east of Fuller Street, as surplus land and to approve the conveyance of the lands to Skydev for $254,752.
Skydev proposed the development of townhouses, apartments, and a hotel in Meaford, which is to be developed along 226 Boucher Street East and 128 Bridge Street.
