The Owen Sound River District is in bloom with a new initiative.
The city says this initiative highlights the natural beauty of the River District to recognize and protect the native and pollinating plant life.
Six community-built installations are now open in and around the Owen Sound City Hall and the Farmers’ Market. Each installation is comprised of a team working to sponsor, design, build, and care for each installation throughout the week.
Some teams have also leveraged community organizations to care for the plant life during this initiative, and will receive the potted plant to sell, raffle, or use to beautify as they see fit. Other teams will also have contests and events which coincide with their installations.
The event ends June 18 and is open 24 hours a day with no entry fee.
