Georgian Bluffs is looking for residents who would like to participate in the township’s FoodCycler pilot program.
The program is looking for 100 households who want to sign up for a subsidized FoodCycler appliance to help break down kitchen waste in their own homes, which diverts that waste from the local landfill.
Once processed by the FoodCycler appliance, the broken-down material can be added to houseplants, gardens, or added to existing compost containers.
There will be two units available, a smaller one for $150, and a larger device for $300 plus HST, and the units are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Georgian Bluffs is the latest municipality to join the composting program in the area, joining Saugeen Shores, Huron-Kinloss, and Kincardine.
