Starting this weekend, Bruce County will be implementing an “Idle Fee Parking Charge” at electric vehicle charging stations.
The County says that as of Saturday, May 13th, once an electric vehicle is charged at a county-owned EV charging station, the owner of the vehicle will have a 20-minute grace period to move their vehicle, or else they will receive additional charges.
The charges will be 50 cents per each additional minute of their vehicle occupying the charging space, which will be incurred on their account or credit card that is being used for payment.
The County also says that a notification will be displayed on the EV charging station itself, and frequent users are also able to sign up for the same notifications on their payment app.
Bruce County’s EV charging stations are available at the Bruce County Administration Centre, the Peninsula Hub, the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre, and the Penetangore Hub.
