Addy On
The Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League have signed first round draft pick Nico Addy.
Addy, a 6-foot-4-inch winger from the Toronto Junior Canadiens program was selected 12th overall in the OHL Priority Selection last month.
Last season Addy had 14 goals in 33 games for the Junior Canadiens and is expected to add both a high skill and high compete level to the Attack going forward.

The Owen Sound Attack are excited to announce that they have received commitment from 2023 OHL Priority Selection first round pick Nico Addy to a standard player agreement. Addy was selected 12th overall by the Attack in late April.
“Honestly, things went by so quick, from the draft, to my visit and the decision to report to Owen Sound” said Addy when asked about the whole process. “Before the draft I had heard some amazing things about the program and was really interested in what they were offering me.”
The Attack organizations overall commitment to success both on and off the ice was a driving force to helping make this decision for the newest member of the Bears Den.
“At that time I was seriously considering a different route but after many phone calls with Mr.DeGray and lots of research I made the decision to trust the team of incredible individuals in Owen Sound and to report to the Attack” said Addy. “I am extremely happy and humbled with the situation that I am in and I cannot wait to get started.”
The Attack took Nico with their 1st pick, 12th overall, of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection in late April. The Casselman, Ontario winger was drafted out of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens program where the 6-foot-4-inch, 204-pound right handed shot had 14 goals and 10 assists in 33 games in 2022-23. He was highly touted by the Attack scouting staff as being a high potential player, with good feet, strong puck skills and a high compete level as well as a player who can never be found cheating in effort level.
“We are very proud to be able to add a player like Nico to the organization. A player with his size and skating ability combined with his skill set, made him a top prospect in this year’s draft” said Attack General Manager, Dale DeGray. “We were extremely happy being able to select Nico at 12. We look forward to seeing his development and the player he will become over the next few years.”
“We would like to welcome Nico and his family to the Attack organization” added DeGray.
Attack fans will have their opportunity to meet Nico on Sunday, June 4, at the team’s annual Awards BBQ and slow-pitch tournament. Tickets can be purchased at the MacVicar and McComb Sutton Realty Attack Box Office.
