Bruce County is inviting Walkerton and area businesses to attend an information session on the construction of the Walkerton bridge.
The county says the session on the replacement of the Durham Street Bridge will be held on May 11 at the Walkerton Community Centre at 6:30 p.m.
The session will have staff from Bruce County Transportation and Environmental Services, the Municipality of Brockton, and the Bruce County Economic Development Department in attendance to provide input.
The county says it is planning on moving ahead with plans to replace the bridge, which spas the Saugeen River on Bruce Road 4 in Walkerton, as several of its components have deteriorated.
A public meeting was previously held in October 2022 to present project details to residents. Input was received with concerns related to the preferred detour alternative, which is to use local municipal roads during the replacement.
A second meeting is planned for this July.
