Northern Bruce Peninsula is going to consider awarding a $1.3 million tender for the second phase of the Isthmus Bay Road reconstruction project.
Council will be receiving a report at its meeting on April 24 from Public Works Manager Tory Cameron, recommending awarding the tender for the project to E.C. King Contracting.
The report says phase two of the project includes work from Constance Drive south to the Everatt Sideroad/County Road 29 and Chetwynd Lane intersection.
The work encompasses pulverizing the existing road surface, installing storm sewer piping and concrete curbs and gutters, road realignment, laying down asphalt, road, lawn, and driveway restoration, and the restoration of Swan Lake Bridge.
The tender falls within the allocated $1.8 million included in the 2023 capital budget for the second phase and the completion of the third phase of the project.
“There is approximately $420,000 outstanding for phase three. This work will be completed in 2023,” says the report.
As the second phase does include a portion of County Road 29, Bruce County will be contributing about $337,000 towards the project.
Council will be considering this item at its meeting on April 24 at 1 p.m.
