The Billy Bishop Museum is gearing up for its annual fundraising Fire & Ice Gala next month.
Museum Office and Financial Administrator Rhonda Mitchell says this event set for May 6 at the Best Western Inn in Owen Sound, is their largest event of the year.
“It is a ladies night out and it offers dinner, wine, as well as a raffle auction and silent auction tables, and the highlight of the night is the live purse auction, and one of those purses has a diamond ring,” says Mitchell.
Bring a not-for-profit charity and National Historic Site, Mitchell says the funds raised will go to support the museum’s programs, like Honouring Our Local Veterans, ongoing exhibits, operational expenses, and activities throughout the year for adults and youth.
“The museum operates through fundraisers, donations and grants, so it is a big fundraiser for us,” says Mitchell. “Last year after Covid, we were able to raise $15,000, so we are looking for $15,000 or more.”
More details on this ticketed event can be found on the museum’s website here.
